Jannine Gentle
Parent of Neurodiverse Children
Background
Jannine is a parent advocate, Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, and leadership development consultant with over 20 years’ experience in designing and delivering programmes that unlock talent, confidence, authenticity, and inclusive leadership. Her work combines professional expertise with personal lived experience as the parent of neurodiverse children, which has profoundly shaped her perspective on the importance of supportive, sensory- friendly environments. She also volunteers as a Peer Support Facilitator with West Yorkshire ADHD Support Group.
Expertise
Jannine specialises in leadership development, inclusive facilitation, Strength’s coaching, and raising awareness of neurodiversity. She draws on methods such as Clifton Strengths, experiential learning, storytelling, and creative facilitation to create inclusive spaces that honour different ways of learning and experiencing the world.
Connection to the Mission
For Jannine, the PeacePath Circle represents a place where expertise, creativity, and compassion come together with purpose. She is inspired by the opportunity to co- create resources that genuinely make a difference for children who experience the world in unique ways. To her, ‘finding peace in the little sounds’ means discovering small sensory anchors that offer comfort and grounding - simple moments that create safety and stillness when the world feels overwhelming. She brings the dual lens of parent and facilitator to HushAway®, helping shape it into an experience that empowers children while reassuring families.
Lived Experience & Insights
As a parent of neurodiverse children, Jannine has witnessed both the daily challenges and the extraordinary strengths that come with neurodiversity. Her daughter Sophie, who has ADHD, is also a proud Sound Sonic® Ambassador for HushAway® - giving Jannine a close connection to the project’s impact on children and families. Her eldest son’s success in a sensory- friendly school has also shown her how the right environment can transform a child’s wellbeing and potential. These experiences have deepened her empathy and commitment to advocating for approaches that celebrate uniqueness while providing essential support.
Vision & Impact
Jannine is excited about the potential of sound, science, and storytelling to connect with children in ways that go beyond words - sparking imagination, regulating emotions, and providing sensory comfort. Looking ahead, she sees the greatest opportunity in reshaping schools, communities, and family cultures so that neurodiversity is embraced from the start, not treated as an afterthought.
