Louise McNamara
Parent of Neurotypical Children
Background
Louise is a mother of four boys, aged 8 to 16, and understands first- hand the energy and noise of family life - and the importance of carving out moments of calm within it. Alongside raising her children, she works as a part- time Inventory Clerk and serves as Treasurer for her local primary school, supporting fundraising and managing accounts.
Expertise
Known for her ‘can do, will do’ approach and her socially aware outlook, Louise is approachable, impartial, and deeply committed to inclusion. Her perspective is shaped by eight years of volunteering at a Children’s Hospice, where she supported families through outreach work in their homes. These experiences reinforced her belief in the value of peaceful, sensory- friendly spaces, and showed her how calming sounds and storytelling can bring comfort and joy to children with diverse needs.
Connection to the Mission
For Louise, ‘finding peace in the little sounds’ means giving both parents and children hope. She believes the combination of sound, science, and storytelling offers limitless opportunities to support neurodiverse and sensitive children - and that the next decade holds real potential for greater inclusion and wellbeing.
