Mark Tew

Sound Frequency Expert

Background

After struggling through school with undiagnosed neurodivergence, Mark spent years believing he was lazy, until he discovered he was dyslexic. Taking charge of his own learning, he returned to education as a mature student and graduated with a 2:1 in Audio and Music Technology. Since then, he has founded and led three successful businesses, combining his creative drive with a deep understanding of the science of sound.

Expertise

Mark brings over 25 years’ experience as a professional DJ in both the club scene and corporate world, alongside extensive study in psychoacoustics and Solfeggio Frequencies. He’s passionate about bridging the gap between science and wellbeing, translating what some consider ‘alternative’ into accessible, evidence- informed sound practices. His expertise lies in using psychoacoustics to shape emotional states and energy through sound, both in live environments and personal wellbeing.

Connection to the Mission

Mark is inspired by the holistic vision of the PeacePath Circle and the positive ripple effect it will create for children and families worldwide. ‘Finding peace in the little sounds’ resonates deeply with him; from the gentle patter of rain on a tent to the quiet moments that help his neurodivergent mind relax and reset. He often reflects, ’I wish I’d had access to these little sounds when I was growing up.’ Through his knowledge of Solfeggio Frequencies and lived neurodivergent experience, Mark helps translate complex sound concepts into real- world applications for children and families.

Lived Experience & Insights

As someone with ADD and dyslexia, Mark has spent his life finding creative ways around convention and stereotype. Having ‘worn the adjustable mask’ of trying to fit into a system not built for him, he now uses that insight to coach others and to parent with empathy and understanding. He believes peaceful, sensory- friendly spaces are not optional, they’re essential. Research shows that children learn best when calm and regulated, and Mark advocates for environments that meet each child where they are, rather than forcing them to fit into one mould.

Vision & Impact

Mark is passionate about how sound, science, and storytelling can transform learning and emotional wellbeing. ‘It’s 100% sense to me,’ he says. ‘We’ve long used story and sound to teach, persuade, and connect, so why wouldn’t we use that same power to help children thrive?’ He envisions HushAway® as a catalyst for change within education - a movement that will help neurodivergent children feel seen, understood, and supported across all school systems. His vision is for a world where children grow up knowing they are enough, where their differences are celebrated, and where limiting labels are replaced with understanding and opportunity.

Fun Fact

Mark can DJ confidently in front of a thousand people… but finds it far harder to start a small conversation with just two or three.
