Nicky Shipp

ADHD Coach / Mentor

Background

Nicky’s journey has been anything but conventional. After overcoming challenges with focus and inhibition as a child, she went on to achieve an Hons Degree in graphic design. Her creative career spanned roles as a Studio Manager, freelance design consultant, copywriter, illustrator, photographer, and ultimately Creative Director, where she also mentored design staff.

At 60, Nicky followed her long- held passions and retrained as a Personal Development Coach and Nutritional Therapist. Discovering her own ADHD wiring in her late 40s gave her deep insight into the lived experience of neurodiversity. Coaching ADHDers became a natural fit, and today she describes her work as filled with purpose, gratitude and joy.

Expertise

Nicky specialises in helping young people & adults understand and work with their minds to unlock strengths and live more fulfilling lives. Her approach combines deep listening with a range of therapeutic and coaching techniques, including NLP, Havening, IFS, Flash and Rewind, and evidence- based nutrition strategies. She shares many of these tools through her podcast, The ADHD Connection.

Connection to the Mission

Nicky is inspired by the chance to contribute to something that will create lasting positive change for neurodiverse children and their families. To her, ‘finding peace in the little sounds’ means the gift of incrementally growing calm. She hopes to bring her creativity, personal journey, and professional expertise to shaping HushAway® in ways that enhance its impact.

Lived Experience & Insights

Growing up as an undiagnosed ADHD child has given Nicky a deep understanding of the impact of neurodiversity on emotional regulation, executive function, self- esteem and confidence. She sees these same patterns in her clients today and is motivated to ensure that children of the future have more support, awareness, and opportunities. For her, peaceful, sensory- friendly spaces are vital – islands of calm where children can build emotional and functional skills.

Vision & Impact

Nicky believes that bringing sound, science, and storytelling together has the power to transform lives, both in childhood and into adulthood. Looking ahead, she sees awareness, understanding, and targeted support as the greatest opportunities for creating meaningful change for neurodiverse and sensitive children in the next decade.

Fun Fact

Nicky’s mother once held the title of Miss England – though Nicky says she looks just like her dad!
