Jay is a thoughtful and energetic boy who finds joy in the little sounds.

With a diagnosis of mild ADHD, and many behaviours suggesting OCD, finding peace and focus within sounds and activities are key to managing both. Jay has a deep interest in listening to and creating ASMR. Some of his favourite sounds include food sizzling, cutting kinetic sand, rain falling, and ocean waves. His favourite HushAway®️ story is “The Lantern On The Lake”, mentioning the sounds and calming narrative made him feel like he was present within the story.

When not in school, Jay keeps busy with many interests and hobbies. He enjoys gaming, wrestling, arts and crafts, playing piano and percussion drums, practicing karate and basketball, and watching YouTube. His favourite YouTube channel is Unspeakable.

Jay understands the challenges of having mild ADHD and OCD, noting he “wishes grown-ups knew how my brain thinks”. He says that once he distracts himself from having to do a task, the feeling will usually pass.

Jay shines through his determination, creativity, and energy, bringing his unique way of seeing and enjoying the world to everything he does. He is excited and proud to be a HushAway®️ Sound Sonic Ambassador, helping himself and other children find peace, calm, and self-regulation in sound.
